Affordable GE Ultrasound Probes
Ultrasound probes, better known as transducers, are the most integral part of an ultrasound machine. These probes convert energy into sound waves that are well above the human audible range and then receive the echo that bounces back once the sound waves have hit an object. The machine then converts the sound waves back into energy which creates the image displayed on the monitor. They come in a multitude of shapes and sizes to capture different parts of the body in images.

General Electric recommends that all transducers/probes be cared for and cleaned properly according to the user's manual. This will ensure a long life for the probe, as well as prevent severe lens damage and image quality degradation. They also recommend that before cleaning GE ultrasound probes, you disconnect the probe from the console and scrub with a soft brush, lathered in a nonabrasive soap and water solution. This will ultimately maximize the lifespan of your transducer.
While you take the time to properly care for your products, they can still get worm out and should be replaced when needed to provide the best possible images.
